ARTIST STATEMENT

Bootsy Holler is a Los Angeles artist whose images are rooted in self portraiture.  Holler’s new series chronicles her vivid episodes experiencing depersonalization. 

Recreating scenes based on the visions she has in this state, she paints the possibility of an ecofeminist solution, casting women and nature in a powerful union against the social constructs that devalue them both.
